In the event of a life-threatening illness or injury, immediately call 911 and contact Campus Safety at extension 6799.  You can also contact Campus Safety through the communication system on one of the four Code Blue Towers located throughout the campus.  Campus Safety Officers are on-call 24 hours a day. 

Responding to Medical Emergencies on Campus

 

The purpose of the VU Health Center is to provide first aid and injury treatment to students as well as be a point of contact for students who may need medical referrals to local urgent care facilities, hospitals, and counseling.

The Center is located at the end of the hallway on the first floor of the Laguna Dorm.  The hours for the spring semester are Monday through Thursday from 12:00-5:00pm and Friday from 12:00-3:00pm. Please feel free to reach us during those hours at extension 6471.

Dr. Terry Zeigler

Dr. Terry A. Zeigler Ed.D., ATC has twenty-five years of experience treating and caring for students as a Board Certified allied health care provider.  She specializes in the recognition, assessment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries with expertise in the recognition and management of concussion.  Her focused research is in reducing the risk of catastrophic injuries in the sport of competitive cheer and has a number of articles written on the subject.  She is also a featured writer and Board member for SportsMD website with published articles on a wide variety of subjects including improving safety in cheerleading, returning to sport safely after an injury, managing concussion, recognizing and preventing eating disorders, women’s health issues, and the proper care of musculosketal injuries.  Dr. Zeigler also serves as a tenured professor within the department of Kinesiology.
